I have used a CPAP for years, and sometimes it fills my stomach with positive pressure instead of my lungs with the obvious result of gas...is this a problem for any in the post op? I am curious how a pouch can handle the added pressure of air. Thanks for your help.

What kind of CPAP and mask do you have?

The mask I have is is a "profile light, med-small". It looks like a gel padded triangle that fits over my nose with a forehead support and straps:wave: Mary

I agree that there should be no problem if it is set at the correct pressure. FYI I was retested and 5 1/2 mo post-op I did not have sleep apnea anymore and did not have to use the CPAP at all. I am 7 1/2 mo post op now and down 108 lbs and 20 BMI PTS. Maybe this will encourage you!

Thanks Pam! You have done more than encourage me, you are an inspiration! It is my sincere hope that I will be as successful and then able to retire my CPAP as well. Thank you so much for your kind words Mary

Thanx all! I have been wondering this myself! Good to know. ???????????Have any of you gotten a dent in your forhead from the mask? I have the blue gel triangle one too and the forhead pad has given me a major dent. theres skin and bone...no flesh to pad it anymore. I've tried loosening the straps but then I get air leaks that drive my hubby and I nuts and let TOO much air escape. ??????????
