Topic: Horse people
Hey I was wondering if there are any other horsey people. Iv started riding when i was 8 years old until i had an accident in 2001, I then took a year and a half off and started riding again in 2003. Well i havnt ridden in a wile because of being too heavy, and I had really bad luck trying to buy a horse sence i had 2 horses buy right out from under me. SO i just decided to give up on the buying idea. Anyway I cant wait to lose enough weight to be able to take lessons again and maybe even lease a horse. :-). Tell me about your horsey history and include pics of your horse too please if you can

Anyone here other than me got em? I have two, Bowie and Yorke. Yorke is 7 with adrenal cancer and an enlarged spleen, Bowie is 3!

i have 4 dogs. three beagles and one mixed. all are rescue dogs and were going to be put down. i have had 3 dogs die in the last 8 months. my last dog ,cookie died 2/13/10. she was a 15 year old coon hound. i really miss them all so much. they had lots of love and happy home.

Well... looks like I'm the only App person on here. 
Right now we have 6 head on the property, everything from WP, HUS, and performance bred horses. I also chose WLS as I want to be able to put in that first ride on my colt when it comes time. He'll be a true yearling in a couple weeks so I have a bit of time to become a svelter me.
I used to do barrels and poles and am looking forward to getting back there with my performance mares. I picked up a trained SMS and WP mare last year for my hubby that I may re-introduce back to the ring once I can fit back into a horsemanship outfit.
Anywho, we still trail ride, and I can't wait until I can get back in the saddle.

Yes here is a 54 yr old 5 days out and horses are a main reason for my having surgery as well. Have had horses all my life - showed in dressage and jumping, went into trail riding and have been there ever since! Camping, riding and lots of good times
My horse for the last 7 years is a TWH 16 hands and he will be so happy with me this spring!

I have a 18 month old Fawn male....he is dopey, slobbery, and dumb...lol but i love him to bits. I couldn't imagine not having him, he makes me laugh at least once every day

I am so glad you were able to get help for your babay. My heart so goes out to you because I know how difficult it is to lose a furry child. You were such a wonderful mamma to him and I so hope that you will continue to feel his spirit around you everyday.

Hun ,we lost our fur son a few Mo's a go ,and yes i did get him something for pain .i lay-ed with him for 2 days and night ,when i would get up to go eat r to the bathroom ,i know he was sayin momma momma ,so i would stay by his side and he would rest .he passed in his sleep .

One of the things that really makes me crazy is how light the sentences are for jerks who abuse animals. There should be more laws on the books to protect animals, and the penalties should be so much more severe than what they are. It absolutely sickens me what people can get away with when it comes to abusing animals.

I currently have four Chihuahuas and a Chocolate Lab. They are each wonderful and bring such joy into our lives. I think once the children leave home, our pets become our surrogate kids and give us something to continue nurturing. Actually, don't know about you, but there are a lot of days where I actually like the animals better than the kids. LoL
