Hoping to have WLS so I can ride again--too heavy for the poor horse right now....Have to pay cash, so am looking for financing--any ideas--don't want to have to sell the horses--also--has anyone gone out of the country for surgery--would be interested in your experiences...

Topic: RE: New puppy
Congrats on the new puppy. I kept my older dog slept in the crate for ayear, and I put her in the crate when I wasn't home for 2 years. (She is 8 now). My little one (10mos old) still sleeps in his crate. I also feed him in the crate and he stays there during the day if I am not home. He loves it, and since he is chewing the house now, it's safer. In terms of housebreaking-- if you have any easy time getting up in the morning (I am a hit the snooze kind of girl), once he can hold it until 6am, he should be good for the night.... but the real issue is the chewing-- will he destroy that house while you are asleep? My vet calls lab puppies-- 'labrador retard-eds' because they will eat ANYTHING!. I had a friend that had to take her 4 mo. choc. lab to the ER because he chewed on a cubbard doornob (through the crate!) and swallowed it. They have x-rays with the doornob in his stomach!

Topic: my little chihuahua- amethyst
i have a 6 pound 8 month old little female chihuahua named amethyst makamae(hawaiian for precious). she was born 2/6/05 thus her name of amethyst. she is the joy in my life, the reason i get up each morning. she is so very special to me.. i lost my mom, my best friend, on 1/9/05 and amethyst has helped to heal my broken heart. i believe that my mom is the reason i found amethyst and also the reason that i am about to do the lap band on 10/10/05. i am doing this for me and for my mom, whose one wish was that i would be able to lose weight and be healthy and happy instead of lonely.. amethyst is the best little girl, she knows when i need kisses and when i need that special little touch to help me make it through a tough time.. i love her with all my heart and soul....thanks for reading about my little heart healing baby..sandy

I have pugs and our male is 18 months and he still sleeps in his cage and he always will I guess... that way hes not in to thing and there is no poopy surprises in the am.. And now he'll go in there to take a nap in the afternoon I think he see it as HIS place... When I tell him its time to go night night get in he goes straight to his cage. Our female does not sleep in a cage never has.. But now we have a litter of pug pups (9) of them wow what a big litter and they are so cute 5 more weeks they will be gone all but one... Have a great day... Cyndee

Topic: RE: LUV, LUV, L UV----- CATS, CATS, CATS, AND MORE CATS!!!
What a good story glad that it turned out that way.... I too have a cat he is a main coon and is 2 1/2 years old and is the biggest loaf you have ever seen..lol.. He is a BIG CAT at 28 pounds. I tried putting him on a diet here a while back but he was not having that.. He would meow and meow and meow and as we would ignore him he then decided to start BITING us on the hand or arm then jump down to his dish.. Like he was saying feed me now or else.... What made us take him off the diet was he started biting us while we tried to sleep say at 3:00 am and he was sno going to stop until he got what he wanted... Funny thing is now when he wants fresh water ( he has a water feeder) in his tray he goes back to biting and jumps to his water dish... He is so funny. We also have pugs and that darn cat will chase our male around the house.... he out weighs them by 10 pounds that is a funny sight...Talk to ya soon... Cyndee
