Topic: Lost my beloved Boston Terrier
I lost my beloved Boston Terrier on December 12, 2006 to cancer of the stomach and esphoeguse. I miss her very much she was with me 24/7 and she slept on my pillow by my head.
I am looking for another one, but being disabled I can not afford $600. or more to get one. Even though I am saving, it will take a long time before I can save that much, with car problems right now that need to be addressed.
I cry a lot, she is resting in the yard on a hill. And I go visit the spot often and talk to her. I know she is in heaven with my Grand-daughter and her 2 little children that were killed in a car accident on April 22, 2005, little Jake and Gina just loved Hope, that was my Boston's name, her registared name was Americas Sweet Hope, and she was my Sweet Hope. I am also still paying monthly on the vet bill for the 4 weeks we tried to figure out what was going on with her, she lost 6 pounds in 2 weeks. And on December 12th my vet did exploratory surgery to see what was going on, all her tests where normal and x-rays showed nothing. When he called me in the office he hugged me and was crying and said he was sorry but if he removed the cancer she would not be able to live, and asked if I wanted her put to sleep since she was already under.
I could not let her suffer any longer, I said I want to bring her home. And he said he would get her ready. I am sorry I am crying, and my heart is breaking even now.
Like I said I miss her, she loved everyone.
I wish I could find someone that had a Boston to give to a good home. I would take it in a heart beat. But people have to make a living. Than some time people get a puppy and realize they don't have time for them and want to find a home. And than again some people when they get tired of the puppy just throw them out on the road, please if you do have one and don't have time for the puppy or young dog, email me and if I live close enough I will take it and give it a loving, safe home with me. I live in Northeast Georgia just in case there is someone out there that has a Boston they have decided they don't want.
God bless all animal lovers out there, and I hope you don't have a loss like mine, and if you do, my heart goes out to you and your furbaby.
Hugs
Lynda Sweet Hope's mommy

Topic: RE: Blue crowned conure
I had one of these for 20 years and they really DO pick a person even more than the Macaws etc. I swore I would never have another after my bird died and he was a wild caught bird too ( no telling how old he was when I got him ) I had him before my children........they sure can be loud hunh? I wish I was closer because I probably would come and get him in a minute , I just dont see any blue crowns here in Az. Good luck finding him a home there are so many unwanted birds it can be difficult to find people to buy them, the rescues are filled to capacity and give them away. I am sorry you cannot keep him though , they really are amazing animals.
Topic: RE: helping a horse
Probably this horse will be priceless to your family, just be careful about pouring all that grain into him , laminitis etc. besides underweight horses that are grained that heavily tend to colic. Not being preachy and I am sure you know, I am sure glad he landed where he did......come to the mountains and ride!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Topic: RE: Want to ride again....
4 months for me , full tilt riding and training , speed events etc. more like 9 months I will say though it was a very strange thing for me the change in balance etc. and although I have 5 horses and have been riding all my life including when I was heavy, it was scary to me to think this weight change had affected my riding , of course you adapt and yes being more likely to dismount and open a gate is probably one of the better things about surgery. Now as this is major part of my job I probably ride a minimum of 4 hours a day , I mean ride, this doesnt count cleaning stalls, grooming etc. I HATE organized type excercise so this is perfect to me. I would say it's pretty tough to be to be too fat to ride the horse mentioned above unless the horse is VERY small or injured. It never stopped me or my horses I competed at my heaviest and won , but I realize some people might not feel comfortable or worry that others might make comments. your horse looks like a halter horse in that picture is he/she?

Topic: RE: french bulldogs???
Hi-
I have two frenchies. A boy and a girl. The boy is a sweet, lazy, gentle soul. The girl is hyper, neurotic, sweet too though and HATES other dogs. They are hilarious! They were difficult to house train, but smart and easy to obedience train. I show both of them. I would also say get them from a responsible breeder who does health testing because both of mine have bad spines. Make sure the breeder tests for spines, hips, patellas, thyroid, heart problems and temperament! I would go to the French Bulldog Club of America's website for more good info.
Frenchies are like NO other dog, I adore them, but they are definately not for everyone.
I cannot stress the health stuff enough. The first one we had died at 12 months after several surgeries to help him to breathe. That should not have had to happen to such a good soul. Both of his parents had breathing and heart problems and he got the worst of each. It was a hard and sad lesson to learn.
Feel free to contact me anytime if I can help!

Topic: cat needs a shave
I have a boy, about 2, with very long hair. He is an outdoor cat and we love him to death.
His fur on his back is clump-free because he will allow me to brush, but not his belly.
Do I really need to get him shaved? How do I know who is good?
Please help, friends of animals,
Karen from Brantford
Topic: RE: Want to ride again....
I used to show at the berry saddle club! I haven't up there in a while but I miss it. I bet alot of the same people are still there we used to love going up there and staying the weekend. I guess I probably started feeling really good about a month after surgery I never felt bad but I was just tired right after surgery. I am still learning stuff to this day on things I can tolerate and things I can't. I am over a year and still can't eat a whole half of a sandwich so I think I have done very good. I have gone from 331 down to 170 and I feel great! As far hurting yourself will probably be ok I have 2 toddlers that jump on me constantly and have been fine. Good Luck!
