Diabetic Dog

Does anyone have a diabetic dog? My American Eskimo was diagnosed shortly after Thanksgiving. We are having a difficult time getting his insulin regulated. For the last 2 weeks, he has not been able to hold his pee and this is becoming very frustrating for me because I"m not always home when he needs to go out. I live on a second floor so I can't just let him out - also I rent. He has learned to use "puppy pads", but I'm not willing to deal with these for the rest of our lives. Any thoughts? jes

I had a diabetic husky a few years back. Once the right dose of insulin is found, the extra water drinking with stop, hence less pee. Do you have regular glucos curves done at the vets? Also, if you love your dog and he is part of the family you deal with whatever happens, even if that mean cleaning up puppy pads.
