Saint Bernard Puppy....

We just bought Cooper from a breeder a month ago. We got him and he weighed 11 pounds he now weighs 33 pounds. He is a great animal person and boy does he chew... Ouch Anyone know any good tips for raising Saints? Thanks, becca

We adopted our Saint from a rescue. He was about 9 years old and thank goodness had already gone thru all the terrible puppy stages. He is the best dog I have ever had. He weight 180lbs and is the most gentle animal ever. Now I also adopted a husky mix at about 5 months. He chewed everything and giving him toys didnt stop him from chewing the furniture too. We kennel trained him and so far, he is now 1 1/2 years old, no problems. I would have to say I would never get a puppy again.

usually this is just a puppy stage and they get over it when they get older and will recognize it when you say owe, also replace your hands with plenty of choices for him to chew on (play toys) he'll pick his favorite one. Hope this helps , but i wasn't clear if you meant he chews on furniture etc. or you? lisa
