I am happy to encourage any WLS persons who wish to ride again, or are riding now. Please email me... I am a certified instructor who is five years post op, and teach in a program in the Napa Valley. God bless you all. Kari Ann

Hi Kari that is great. You wouldn't happen to work at Wild Horse Ranch would you? When I would visit my brother who lives in Suisun City I would always go up to Wild Horse Ranch and rent a horse and go for a ride. I live in GA now and have a Tennessee Walking Horse gelding that I trail ride. For years I have been interested in volounteering for a riding for the handicapped program - there is one less than 15 miles from where I live, but every time I have almost got up the nerve to go I back out. I am shy and nervous that I will not know how to deal with special needs people. Sarah in Newnan GA

Sarah, please go to the handicapped program and volunteer. They will understand you are shy at the beginning. The Creator of All Life will give you the strength to take the first step, and all the other steps will be made easier after that. Please contact me when you visit Suisun City... I will be delighted to give you a lesson if you wish, including trail obstacles etc. Most warmly, Kari Ann Owen [email protected]

I'm in the waiting stage for gastric bypass surgery. I'm wondering, how long did you wait until you rode after surgery? I have 6 horses and want to ride this show season if possible. Thanks, Jan Morris
