difference between akc and aca

What is the difference between the American Kennel Club and the American Canine Association? I just got a shih tzu. Her papers are with the American Canine Association. I love her just the same. She is 6 m old, black and white. Her name is Princess. She is a wonderful lap dog. Princess is a great companion for me.

HI! AKC is a little more strict and a more well respected registery you might say. I am a breeder of miniature schnauzers and I only use AKC because they have strict guidelines that I HAVE to follow whereas other registeries do not. Thats not to say you didnt get a great little baby thats just the typical difference in the two. Your more legit breeders usually go with AKC whereas more puppy millers use other registeries. Long as people are careful and SEE where their new baby comes from and be sure its not a puppy mill, thats the most important part!
