Im at wits end..this lil dog was a rescue dog way back in Feb of this year. She gets up all night to drink and pee. I understand the take the water away thing but she stands and barks...tries to go down alone and fell down the steps. Shes really holding my hostage. I put her in her kennel at night and she barks for up to four hours. Im so tired and this is aging her really fast....this barking at night I mean. Signed sad and desperate. Linda

Hi.. Know this is old but just found these boards. I also adopted an old rescue dog. He drips/pees round the clock due to not being neutered young (prostate problems). Luckily with a male we just keep a belly band on him with a pad so we don't have to crate him and he sleeps almost all night now on his big padded bed. (It seems to comfort his old bones) Anyway, he had a bad habit of barking to come in from the yard (regardless of what time it was). My boyfriend squirted him with water and said "No". That only took 2 times and he stopped. If you are crating her at night I'd put a water bottle or heavy metal bowl in the crate with her. Usually they won't go where they're sleeping. Some newspaper and towels in the crate will give extra security if she does. Good luck and bless you for taking her in. We're such a disposal society and these little seniors deserve better... hugs.. Pat
