Topic: RE: An encouraging Story.......
My husband and I both had gastric bypass. Since May 06 I have lost 115lbs and my husband has lost 206lbs. My husband ha**** his target wt and I am just a few lbs away. Our local CBS did a cool video about us. You can see it at greatdayhouston.com. It is listed under finalist # 5. Wishing you all success-hang in there. J. Benzel

Topic: RE: MD says No protein drinks....don't worry about protein
I am a new post op, but my husband also had lap RNY 6 months ago. My MD DOES NOT want us to drink protein drinks. He says the extra protein is hard on your kidneys and makes hydration very difficult. I know this is true of protein due to my nursing background. I am a little concerned though since everyone on the board focuses on PROTEIN!!! Let me know what you think. I would like to know if any other MD's are using this theory too. He does encourage you to eat your protein rich foods first but no protein drinks.
Thanks!!!

Ask your surgeon what PCP works with him regularly. That is what I did and he gave a letter on the first visit!!
Topic: RE: Blurred vision after surgery????
Hi,
Had lap RNY on fri -I am home from the hospital but having blurred vision.
Anyone else experience this? When did it resolve?
Topic: RE: Newbie here...When did you return to work?-I am a nurse
Just wondering how long everyone was out of work. I am scheduled for lap RNY on May 26. I am a nurse and do a lot of lifting, pushing, pulling etc. My MD told me two weeks but it seems like it should be longer than that. Thanks for the input.
