Everyone starts somewhere. You will find better methods as you go along. This board is rarely read anymore. The only active board left is the daily menu thread on RNY. Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
Hi, I am new here. I am 28 years old, have struggled with weight issues all my life. I have been severely obese from past 2 years and have hit my highest weight. I struggle with no motivation to exercise as I feel drained all the time. I don't have friends who can understand what I am going through. Having thyroid issues doesn't help my energy levels either. I have decided to start on my health journey. I am not going to post anything apart my weight every week. will not post anything related to diet/workout that I follow, just simply my weight (every Friday,). Feel free to join me on this, if you feel the same that you need simple support/encouragement from someone by just posting your weight loss results every week and that if it might help in pushing each other forward on our health journey.
Thanks for reading my post.
PS: my next post will be 19th.
Every year our Platinum and Gold Sponsors provide scholarship tickets for the OH National Conference.
The conference is in Costa Mesa, CA this year, and thanks to Premier Protein, PatchMD, and VIDA Wellness & Beauty, for their support of the bariatric community and for providing these scholarship tickets.
Sign up if you would like to be considered for a Scholarship Ticket to OH2022. The scholarship ticket covers the entrance to the full two-day conference, including all sessions and social events on 9/30 and 10/1, plus includes a weight loss-friendly lunch for that Saturday. The ticket does not cover hotel accommodations, parking fees, food, or travel expenses.
Tickets awarded have no value and cannot be sold or given to another person.
Hi! I am new here, but had a VSG several years ago. Due to a traumatic injury, I have struggled to keep the weight off I had lost and have been in the process of trying to get approved for a revision to RNY. I started the approval process and took the required classes, etc. and then covid shut downs stopped everything. I spent the last few years slowly getting worse. Today, I learned that my surgeon wants to go ahead and submit to my insurance (I still have Medicaid until the covid emergency order is lifted). The hospital program has agreed to allow me to skip the weeks of classes because I'd done them before. It is United Healthcare Community Plan. My BMI is now 42. Does anyone have experience with getting approved for this and how long it might have taken to get approval? I'm a little overwhelmed. Thank you!

Good afternoon everyone,
I have a surgery date set for 9/19 and I am just worried about the risk and outcome of the sleeve.
Has anyone had Dr. Shillingford as a surgeon and can provide any feedback and outcomes if he did your surgery.
I worry about a few things and feel free to answer.
- Is the surgery painful?
- did anyone have the surgery at the Palm Beach Gardens outpatient center?
- did you have lovonax shots after and if so for how long?
- any complications and regrets?
- any positives ( greatly welcomed )
Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions and calm my nerves a bit.
