Interesting. Good to know. It's become a good habit for me. What brands are the newbies using? I actually enjoy mine.

Hiii everyone. I had a revision surgery to a bypass after having a sleeve before. I was so good with protein last time but this time I can't tolerate it at all. I'm good with liquids in general bu****er alone makes me nauseous and I don't like most of the sugar free drinks I had before. The taste changes suck :( but I'm trying. I've been nauseous for the whole month mostly. I had to suck on lemon hard candy for a few days because I couldn't eat a thing without feeling nauseous. They I realized I wasn't getting enough sugar and that's why the candy made me feel better. I told my doctor this by the way. I also had to stay in diluted juice for a bit because I couldn't really stomach anything. I'm not sure if that has slowed my weight loss
But I'm in soft food now and figuring out what to eat is stressful. I will want something and then be completely turned off by it. I was too tired to cook/didn't have much to cook that I wanted yesterday and I ordered chickfila. I had their grilled chicken and tortilla soup without the tortilla. I had that for dinner and then breakfast. I was so happy to be able to eat something that I just ordered it again.
anyway, does anyone have advice?
Hi! I had surgery a month ago. I can't even believe it. I have even weighed myself yet. I had a revision so I was pretty bad with protein drinks after living on them once before. Anyway, I believe in you! Try to stick to it. You have 6 days to go and you can do it!
all the higher-quality brands (like Syntrax) are astronomical - although sometimes you can find them cheaper at some places - search around on the internet to see if you can find better prices. Although White Dove is correct - this far out, you probably don't need to use protein powder unless there's some medical reason to - or if you're not able to get enough through regular food.
I quit using protein drinks when I had regain in year 3. If you are able to eat meat, eggs, fish, cheeses, you do not need protein powder. It is great for right after surgery when you cannot eat regular foods.
Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
Hi guys - so since I started this journey I have only used Syntrax Nectar products which at the time were about 35.00 a bottle and now it's up to 60.00 per bottle. Which is sheer crap!! grrrrr..
What other brands have you used post RNY surgery? I'm disgusted at the increase in cost!!
Thank you.

See if you can find these books. WLS for Dummies and The Emotional First Aid kit a practical guide to life after bariatric surgery. Two really helpful books.
The most I can have a day is 5 since I am diabetic also I do believe I can have some jello. I think I will try that! I am 6 days away from my surgery day now and I think I will fight through the hunger although I'm not sure at this point if the surgeon will do my surgery due to the fact that I've ate so much. Thanks for your feedback and help hollykim
if you are able to finish without cheating a gain you will prob be ok. Keep on it. It's worth it!
Hi and yes it I also think I'm having carb withdrawals. I know the most important thing is a safe surgery but I am terrified to tell my surgeon that I have fell off. Like I said in the last reply I've been doing this for a year and I'm so close and don't want to be set back any longer than I already have. The worst that can happen is on the day of surgery they can't do it. I will listen and understand their decision. I think it would be a good idea to give my therapist a call about this situation since you've said that has helped you in your situation. I hope I can make it through this and be as successful as everyone else. Thank you for your feedback!
Maybe I am not ready for this surgery that I don't know for sure, but one thing I do know is that this surgery is my last hope. I've been working towards this surgery for a year and I've had to postpone multiple times because my team said I was not ready. I know it's serious and I've talked with some family members who have had the wls and they have made me want to fight these hunger urges. Trust me I've thought about it and I really want to be healthy. I am 350 pounds with diabetes and high cholesterol at the age of 21. I know that I need this more than anything I just struggle with my fast food/food addiction. If I get turned away on the day of surgery I will take that as a learning lesson and try again. Thank you for your feedback!
