Topic: RE: Been Far too long since I have been in here

Long Time, no visits.....
[this place seems a ghost-town. It used to have 40 or so new threads a day with massive replies.]

But, just throwing this out for those wondering about long-term results.
So, from one who had this surgery 20 years ago?

Had RNY 2003
Was 390lbs. /5'11.5" - [BMI of 53.6]

I Lost down to 170 to 180 in the first 8 months.
Then slowly dropped on down to the mid- 160's about 10 years ago
and have been at that weight since.
To quote my Dr., my "health is Awesome."
64 years old this summer, and still in better health than I was any time prior to 2003.

I don't really do any "Diets" or re-set business.
Over the years I've just made sure to get in a lot of lean meats and vegetables.
Early eating routines quickly became Habits. And Habits are so hard to break.
If you are "looking into" WLS, learn all you can.
If you've had WLS, keep using it.

Best Wishes- Dx

That sounds pretty harsh, but if the person can afford to do that then I agree with you, you have to know how to put someone in their place.

Topic: RE: Marijuana's affect on surgery

I realize my answer is rather late, but I'd like to share my thoughts. I'm glad marijuana has helped you with your insomnia and depression. As for your question, it's best to consult with your surgeon or healthcare provider to get a definitive answer. However, you may need to stop vaping temporarily before the surgery to minimize any potential risks or complications. Also, I'd like to share that recently, I stumbled upon the highest quality CBD I've ever come across - Spruce's 750 mg Lab Grade CBD. It's derived from a 210-year-old hemp variety, and let me tell you, it packs a seriou*****h when it comes to performance and benefits. I've noticed a significant improvement in my overall well-being since incorporating this CBD into my daily routine.

I would say I quit eating pizza and candy and did more exercise. Probably the truth.

I probably wouldn't have the nerve, but I would want to say," I don't discuss my weight, but we can discuss yours if you like" Then everyone is now looking at her.

Topic: RE: Hi I'm new on Obesity Help and look for some support and help

By the way, in our college, one professor took part of the material for lectures from this book. As for the book itself, I think it's important to read for people who are thinking about surgery. Studying the argumentative essay on mental health visit the site I understand that the morale of patients after surgery is not always good, not everyone is satisfied with the result after a while. This must be taken into account.

The book is really good, after reading it I understand what kind of professional I need for consultation. But not all operations bring the desired result in a long period of time.

I live in a warmer climate and rent an apartment. The people here are not "friends" but they are neighbors. They are people who mutually rent apartments at the same apartment complex. I am sure they feel the same way about me and others. I am polite to them and would help them if they ever needed it. I have walked someone's dog when she was away for a couple of days and took the dog out for bathroom breaks and fed her dog. Things like that. But we don't hang out, don't socialize, don't exchange gifts and so on. On nice days the neighbors sit in front of the apartment buildings in small groups (maybe 5 people) and enjoy the weather. One of the people asks me kind of personal questions alot as I am leaving the building or entering the building. She doe not live in this apartment building but comes over to sit out in front of it with someone who does. For example, when I purchased a new used vehicle she asked a personal question about it in front of the group she was with. I was taken back. She will say things like "were you just at the gym"? Etc. She asked a question about loved one who was dying and I felt extremely uncomfortable about since I don't know her really. I don't even know her last name. Recently in front of the small group she sits with she said "Wow, you have lost alot of weight" and then asked how I did it. I felt very uncomfortable and don't even feel I owe someone an answer to a question just because they ask. Instead I had things in my hands that I was carrying in and I said "Let me get these packages inside". What is a polite answer to give people who ask personal questions that you are not friends with? I want to maintain my personal boundaries without being rude but asking someone about their weight in front of a group of people is not polite either.

Topic: RE: WLS App?

Regarding your question about WLS apps, I personally haven't used any specifically for weight loss surgery, but I have found that using a general fitness app like MyFitnessPal can be helpful for tracking water intake and weight loss progress. It's user-friendly and has a large food database that can help with tracking your nutrition as well. As for tracking water intake specifically, have you considered using a water tracking app like WaterMinder or Plant Nanny? They're both simple and intuitive, and can help remind you to drink water throughout the day. Also, you might want to check out https://smartengines.com/ - it's a platform that I use for scanning documents and images, but it could also be useful for tracking your progress by scanning and digitizing before and after photos, or even your weight loss journal. Just a thought!
