Hi everyone,
I'm a new member here, and I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed as I start my journey toward weight loss surgery. After years of struggling with obesity and trying various diets, I've finally decided to take this step. However, I have so many questions and concerns, and I'm not sure where to begin.
-
Choosing the Right Surgery: I've heard about different types of surgeries (like gastric bypass and sleeve gastrectomy), but I'm unsure which one would be the best fit for me. How did you choose your procedure?
-
Preparing for Surgery: What steps did you take to prepare for your surgery? Were there specific tests or lifestyle changes you needed to make beforehand?
-
Post-Op Recovery: I'm anxious about the recovery process. What can I expect in the days and weeks following the surgery? Any tips to make this period easier?
-
Emotional Support: I know this journey is as much mental as it is physical. How did you handle the emotional aspects of the surgery? Were there resources or support groups you found helpful?
-
Long-term Success: What strategies did you implement to ensure long-term success after surgery? How do you stay motivated and accountable?
I appreciate any advice or personal stories you can share. It feels daunting, but I'm hopeful that this community can help guide me through this process. Thank you for your support!
Looking forward to hearing from you!

Agreed that Jelly Roll needs WLS (and, IMHO, those tats removed from his head ). I also always thought multi-string genius David Lindley could benefit from WLS, but apparently he never had it done. He passed away last year (IIRC) due to Coronavirus. Always wondered if his weight was significantly down if he would have beat it.
Frank talk about the DS / "All I ever wanted to be was thin, like that Rolling Stones dude ... "
HW/461 LW/251 GW/189 CW/274 (yep, a DS semi-failure - it happens :-( )
I agree with Jelly Roll. Weight is a hard topic to approach. At my highest point, I didn't want to hear anything.
I never spoke w him about WLS. But I WILL w other frenz ( like Fat Joe)
Musical community s pretty small. We all no each other. Jelly roll needs help. Seriously.
TY Kathleen.
Love is so hard sometimes.
I jes wish I could have loved him HARDER if that makes ANY sense at all.
I'm sorry for the loss of your close friend. It's heartbreaking.
The best way to honor him is to keep focusing on your weight loss journey
He was a musical genius and a wonderful loyal, faithful and loving human being .
I can't help thinking his way 2 early demise relates to excess weight.
Can I get a show ? Can WE get a show ?!
SERIOUSLY Hun let's Do it !
I had VBG surgery with Dr Weber. Worst mistake of my life he botched my surgery and I will never be the same.
Well I DID purchase some makeup and ... once the bathroom mirror is halfway properly lit up - plan to use it :)
Here's the issue - without the use of heavy duty enlarging glasses I can't read nor really precisely apply eye makeup !
I REALLY don't want 2 look like one of those older ladiez w crooked eyeliner and crease-caked foundation/ powder either.
My ( rented) bathroom walls are marble tile so installing an extending 5x magnifying lighted mirror is not an option.
I thought about glasses where one eye then the other eyes lens could drop so I could see what I'm applying but don't have a clue where to find them
. So now it's just still sunscreen , under eye concealer, sunscreen powder ( there's a wonderful one at Sephora looks just like translucent powder on and it's 30 spf ) and brow pencil.
Would very much like eyeliner n mascara but have to solve the seeing problem . Any ideas?
