My starting weight was 427 pounds I am at 306.4 now. My lowest post surgery weiuught was 230.0 pounds For now, my personal goal weight is to get to 227 pounds. That is what I weighed when, I got married 27 years ago. After I reach that weight, then my doctor and I will determine how much more I need to lose.
Find support from friends, family, or the community. You can share your successes and struggles with other people who also want to lose weight or have already achieved their goals. They can give you advice, praise, or support in difficult times.
Don't criticize yourself for failures. Losing weight is a long and difficult process that requires patience and perseverance. You may encounter obstacles, temptations, or relapses, but this
Weight loss surgery is a serious decision that requires careful consideration and consultation with specialists.
I think you should first visit a psychologist or psychotherapist to assess your mental readiness for lifestyle and nutrition changes after surgery
Be mindful what you eat and how much. Year 3 and after - lots of people start gaining. They relax the diet and rules, i.e. eating more slider food, eating more, drinking with meals, and drinking alcohol.
Weighing often - i.e. once a week and addressing any significant weight gain as we start gaining is important. I.e. if your goal is 150, and you are sitting at 145...going up to 150 may be insignificant. But 155 should be addressed by analyzing your diet and adjusting. The 155 is only 5lbs over the goal, but it's 10lbs from where person maintained. So it's an actual 10 lbs gain.
I'm now app 10lbs from my goal. I lost 20 lbs regain in 6 months but the last 10 is giving me trouble. I know my body would let go of it as long as I maintain my current way of eating. (Relatively Low-Carb keto-paleo type eating). But it would take time. I don't want to restrict more because I want to get to my goal and maintain. Too much restriction can trigger binging.. so I don't.

Hello
I'm inspired by your story. I'm 2 years out in my journey of VSG. Do you have any suggestions or tips as I continue being you are a veteran? I can't really do healthy options but I am committed to walking journaling and eating in smaller portions. But my problem is snacking so I am trying to replace some with fresh fruits. Thank you for your help and support.
Hello
I love your story and am interested in your support. I am 2 years out from vsg. I don't want to regain my weight so do you have any advice, tips, or suggestions on staying on my journey? I am not a big health buff but I am now obsessed with walking and journaling my food intake. I am still at the small portion meal times although I find myself indulging sometimes. I monitor my weight daily. I went from 240 to 245 the highest to current weight fluctuating from 151 to 155. Thank you for your help and support.
