My guess would be she didn't follow the instructions-plus she doesn't weigh enough
I know 4 people, IRL- including my son. All of them are doing well on Ozempic, and don't report any adverse reactions

We Can Do Hard Things
Ok, so I know this was posted a long time ago. I have a lot of medical background and entirely too much medical history.
And I'm currently dealing with the same situation. After a thorough workup at the ER and UC, mine is due to a combo of dehydration and malnutrition. I just had surgery and am currently on a liquid diet (grr, boo, hiss) losing weight entirely too quickly which isn't healthy. Definitely proteinuria (protein in the urine); nothing wrong with any of my organs; always have low blood pressure, exercise regularly, and drink plenty of water - up till now, due to the type of surgery. Again, grr, boo, hiss. So, if anyone is still wondering about this really weird smell and doesn't have other underlying symptoms, that's what it could be. But always, if you have any suspicious issues when your body isn't acting "normally," please ask a doc! Research on the web can only do so much - often scare people half to death by putting too many ideas in their heads that they're about ready to die, when all they really have is the common cold. But all too often, there are ones who go the complete opposite direction and don't want to deal with any of the potential problems and then end up having serious complications. So just ask!!! Doctors are there for a reason! Hope this can help someone in the future.
a lot of people seem to be joining Facebook groups for bariatric patients these days instead of these types of forums - which is unfortunate since bad info that gets posted there rarely gets corrected right away like it does here (and often doesn't get corrected at all). One of the big reasons I've hung on here...
I have been on Wegovy since Feb 2023 and have lost 58 pounds with no side effects at all. My doctor was very smart and only raised my dosage as needed. Even now I am not on the full dose. It was very slow - I also walk 5 miles a day, stopped eating sugar treats and fast for 16 hours a day. It all works together. The thing about Wegovy is that is stops the food noise in your head...you know the one telling you to eat...eat junk...eat more. I get full faster and I don't need more. I am thankful every day for this. I had lapband in 2006 and have stuggled in the last few years with yo yo dieting. This time it is working. At my highest weight of 230 I wore a size 22 - I am now down to 135 and can wear a 6/8. It's amazing. I think if Wegovy is taken correctly and slowly - and you work at it too - there isn't all the issues you hear about.
Women have always been the majority when it comes to breakdowns by gender for WLS, in general (as far back as the early 2000's). However, we have had an increase in male attendees year over year at our National Conferences. We even had a Men's Roundtable Discussion this year that was well-attended.
Unfortunately, photos are not captioned with names due to the number of attendees we have each year, and the photos do have labels below each of the 4 sections.
I agree that things have gotten a little quiet ?
Wasn't there forums for XX years post surgery?
Thanks! Looks like "a good time was had by all". Curious to see though how underrepesented we guys were there this year .. It appears we made up like less than 10% of the attendees .. (?) Makes me wonder now about the gender breakdown of WLSers of late, and whether the stats are that far apart there as well .. Btw, wish the pics had some captions, so we could tell who the people were in them, what they were doing at the time of the pic, etc.

Understandable, but a good, competent surgeon should still get you through it w/o problems, esp. if they do it as a two-parter as I mentioned. I was 461 lbs./61 BMI ("super-obese") when I had my surgery (my DS was done all at the same time, and laparoscopically + gallbladder removal, btw), and there are many others on here who weighed even more at the time of theirs. Have faith, and just do it!

Batwingman, I am sorry you missed the event. We had about 400 attendees who attended. Dr. Now did a keynote and a fireside chat, he also walked the runway in the Fashion Show. You can go here to see photos from OH2023 https://www.obesityhelp.com/events/photos/
I'm just nervous about the surgery at my size
