I don't know why My insurance will not pay for my excess skin that hang down to my knees it hard for me to walk.
Where do you get your insurance from? A job? I can tell you my story and if it's similar to your situation, there may be a chance.
When I realized I needed/wanted plastic surgery I found a surgeon who specialized in bariatrics. After meeting with them and documenting everything, taking pictures and the doctor writing a letter, we submitted to insurance and they turned me down. When I went to my company's Benefits person, it turned out that our insurance was "self funded" and that I could appeal to the company directly, which we did and were successful!! My insurance covered my tummy tuck. I paid out of pocket for a breast lift and I believe (at the time) my out of pocket was about $5K (co-pays plus the surgeon's fee for the lift).
You really have nothing to lose (except your panny) to contact your HR person and start the conversation. Good luck.

I told no one except my long term business partner who visited me daily in the hospital, snuck me treats and books and drove m home .
Which ended up a little weird years later after I was asked to teach a class about successful post op eating vitamins and exercise by my surgeons team.
Im super happy 2 help but my experience is that 95% of the people that get WLS are ridiculously unprepared and unwilling to learn, regrettably.
Most have never heard of this website have no clue what to eat post op or about essential vitamin intake . It?s very sad... and even sadder watching friends ? health decline ( or regain ) when it?s so AVOIDABLE !
My fantastic surgeon Dr Parikh at NYU Langone and Bellevue Hospital NYC ( before Covid obviously) used to throw a party every year with bariatric- friendly catered food , families invited and ex patients rocking a fashion runway and showing their new bodies off !
Every year was a great surprise... some people regained and needed a revision - some got amazing plastic surgery and looked so hott and much younger .... and a lot never showed up and of course we worried about them . But it?s nice 2 have a community !

I've been trying 2 negotiate out of my huge mortgage and crazy taxes . Offered them $ 25,000 more than the first offer and I?m just PRAYING now ....
Doesn't sound very food related but less stress, particularly money related stress means a lot less pressure to overeat , not exercise - or otherwise harm myself ( obviously I don?t mean radically ) ... but depriving, denying even refusing to fix my refrigerator and apartment electricity are all insulting terrible behaviors towards myself I?m starting to see , acknowledge and hopefully change .
Camping like a homeless person in so -called luxury isn?t cool . It?s settling for the worst because you wrongly believe you deserve 2 suffer .

You?ll find you can do anything you want 2 do post op I think .
Its so sad that so many of us talented and lovely little creatures have been forced 2 give up on lifelong held dreams because of our very serious body struggles.
After all - we don't have cancer or another life threatening condition! We?re not even old usually! But we?ve been beaten down and discouraged.
Which is why it?s SO nice to live vicariously... and enjoy third hand a newbies amazement at their much improved health , mobility and beautiful new looks!
Much love , hugs and understanding.... (())))
please keep us posted :)
Thank you Veggiewoman! It is so great that you are now living your dream! Would have loved to be a singer and on stage but God decided otherwise. LOL. I just don't have that talent. I will try to stay hydrated as best I can. Vitamins are another issue because I never took them before surgery. Congratulations on overcoming addictions. I understand the struggles.
I so value your response. THANK YOU! I learn so much from your posts.

Speaking of zinc and vitamin C the statistic is that you?re 75 % less likely to contract Covid if you?re exposed to it if you took Airborne that day .
Since I read that I take Airborne all the time especially when I?m working on a set exposed to hundreds of people or even shopping.
Zero Covid so far Thank God ( I did get tested again a few days ago - resoundingly negative :) )
and no I don't own stock in the company though I should probably buy some lol

WOW !!! Thank you SO MUCH for sharing this .
I myself have experienced scary forgetfulness during Covid when I was depressed and drinking too much and forgetting to take my daily vitamins.
I literally lost my car and house keys for WEEKS and had to have triple A come out and make me a key so I could drive ( 600 bux I kid you not - I drive a button push " smart " Volvo suv )
Not so smart 2 choose such a fancy car I'm thinking now lol.... but DEFINITELY idiotic to stop taking my vites.
i feel HUMAN and competent again after weeks of proper ingestion. We can't stop this stuff ! Malabsorption is a REAL thing and no rebellious attitude will conquer it - it just hurts us and our families who have to worry about us .
