Sorry but I have to disagree with your emphasis.

As someone who has struggled with obesity for over forty years, I am quite familiar with calorie expenditure formulas. And, as someone who has struggled with obesity for over forty years, I have had forty years of people telling me about the caloric expenditure theories. Not that it is incorrect, but it is over-simplistic. Obesity research has clearly established the complexity of obesity--and why there is no simple fix. The role of one's microbiom, hormones, environmental factors, etc. add to the challenges faced by people and focusing on calories in = calories out puts the blame squarely on the shoulders of individuals as if obesity were all due to their own behaviors. If that were the case, no one would need obesity surgery or drugs. And obesity is, therefore a moral failure--which it is not. It is a disease condition of the body.

Healthy food choices are critical but they are not the cause or cure of obesity.

Hi Jmm4321,

lots of people have high metabolism so whatever he/she eats will be digested no weight gain. Unfortunately, lots of people metabolism is low so not high like yours Jmm4321. I am happy you can eat all the food you want. For lots of people it is unfortunately because of their age or other situations that hinder them to take a dump everytime he/she consumes a lots of food.

The foods you consume will become calories. If you do not do exercise activities your calories will be stored as fat in the adipose. Energy from food can not be destroyed or created. It going to be stored if you do not burn up the calories you intake daily on a daily basis.

Best wishes

Hi Sallyj,

Thanks for your input! It's Highly processed food is the causing for America to have the highest obesity rate in the world and the fast food chain foods are the reasons for unhealthy contents of fats, sodium, sugar filled with unhealthy ingredients you do not know about at fast foods as well as processed food. You should read the food labels to know what contents are not healthy for you to eat. Calories are not just counting numbers it is what you ingest from the food you put inside your body what cause the calories to convert to fat because you are not trying to do exercise activities to burn off the high calories you ingested all day long!!!

It is more than just the calories that matters. Importantly, how much energy input (food) you are consuming in calories on a day to day basis.

Example:

Someone ingest 2200 calories a day. It is the energy from the food they ingest is 2200 calories. This person not doing no sports activities to burn off those extra calories. What happens, energy from the food you ingested for that day and week just store up in the adipose. Eventually, that person begins to gain access amount of weight. Energy from food you ingested from your calories does not go away. It will be stored up as fatty tissue.

Energy cannot be destroyed are created. All that food you consume a day in calories certainly does matter for lots of people not trying to do exercise activities to burn off the calories.

Energy Imbalance:

Is the causing #1 for epidemic in obesity in today society....

I hope this was self explanatory for you to know!

Best Wishes,

It's positive that you have been tested for various conditions such as PCOS, thyroid disease, and Cushing's syndrome. If you haven't already, it may be beneficial to consult with a healthcare professional, such as an endocrinologist or a specialist in metabolic disorders, to explore other possible underlying causes or conditions that might be contributing to your weight management challenges.

@snake game, do you have any advices?

Please remember that it is more than just the calorie count that matters--look at all the current research on highly processed food. While some may have calorie counts that are appropriate, that doesn't make them a good choice.

I didn't check labels either, but now I do. Still don't keep a journal mainly because I have a empty nest now and I don't cook as much. I stock up on my proteins I can bake, broil etc. Steamed veggies plenty of water protein shakes. Have to watch breads ?

By the age of 4 I was 68 pounds. Mother was thin, biological father was thin and I was not over fed.

By the age of 14 I was already 180 pounds. I ate no differently then my friends. I was sent to a nutrionist a year later and they had me get rid of all processed foods and join a teen gym but it never resulted in any weight loss.

I was written off as a case of emotional disturbance and secret over eating but that certainly was not what was going on. My family doctor was very concerned for me at that time and forced me into unnecessary cognitive behavior therapy hoping I could gain "control of my emotions" and "stop lying". I ate everything they told me to eat, did everything they said and still remained 180 pounds two years into their "program for me".

Then at 19 I got desperate and starved myself. I lost 30 pounds in two years and by 21 I was 150 pounds at 5'7. But it was NOT easy to maintain. I was eating 500 calories a day and going to the gym non stop. By 22 I collapsed in a mall public bathroom and was hospitalized with an irregular heart beat and dehydration. I was told to starting eating carbs again or I was going to die. So I did. And two years later I was back up to 180 pounds.

By 2021 my weight had reached 223 pounds. And I'm still stuck at that today. I've been tested for PCOS, thyroid disease, cushings several times. No one can find a cause. I'm currently 34 and and not losing a darn pound of fat. I exercise vigorously. No weightloss.

Nothing seems to rxplaon this. How is this evrn possible? And why did i get cursed?

I bought the packaged shredded kohlrabi, kale, cabbage mix in the salad bag and added lots of other fresh produce. It was really good
