Consult a lawyer about divorce and keeping custody of your boys. Talk to a therapist to start working on your emotional issues. Think of this as a new chance at life and eventually an opportunity to find a partner who does support you and want the best for you.

I get these under my fupa when I sweat a lot. I get rid of them in a day or two by taking a shower and washing then rinsing well. When I dry off I pat the area until fully dry, never rub! Oh the agony that follows if you rub? once dry I use cornstarch and cover the area. To decrease mess you can put a towel on the floor or carefully step back into the shower to rinse down the drain. I apply cornstarch throughout the day to keep the area dry. This is nuts but to help prevent them I use something for a barrier between the areas like Kleenex, toilet paper or a clean sock. I've gone as far as putting a pantyliner with the backing on. I put the absorbent side facing the affected area. Good luck!!

I've been doing a lot research on weight loss surgery I told my husband I going to have weight loss surgery he said doesn't support me and If I lose weight he will leave me and take boys with him. I just need support for someone if hard weight over 500 lbs and nobody supports you.

VSG does not really have the honeymoon that RNY does. They absorb every calorie that they eat from day 1. RNY gets about 18 months when we eat and our body does not absorb all of the calories, so we don't gain. The only way to maintain your loss is by counting calories. You need to eat 10 calories a day for each pound you want to maintain. You need to eat 3500 less to lose one pound. If you want to maintain 150, for example, then you eat 1500 per day. If you want to lose a pound a week, you cut to 1000 per day. for males, it is 12 calories per pound. There is no magic and nothing else that works.

There is a 10% bonus if you cut carbs to 20 a day or less. Then you can eat 1650 instead of 1500 to maintain 150.

(almost) seven years out. My clinic said 60+ grams of protein and they never said we could cut back after we reached maintenance - so I assume that means for life. I personally have to average around 100 grams a day because if I don't, my prealbumin level tanks - but of course that's just because of my individual issue. I would say unless your labs indicate otherwise, I would stick with what you were told when you went through the program 12 years ago.

I recovered this autumn because I ate a lot and couldn't stop. During this period, I spend a lot of time at home and ate out of boredom. So I realized that it was time to take matters into my own hands and start doing something so that it would not be too late. I started going to the gym 3-4 times a week, eating more fruit and vegatables, drinking smoothies with vitamin supplements from Canada Drugs, drinking a lot of water and spending a lot of time outdoors. Because of this , I hardly thought about food and so I stopped gaining weight and even losing weight

I'm not as far out as you but none of my guidelines have changed since I got off the food progression back to normal food; the only thing that gets adjusted is my vitamins/supplements based on the regular blood tests so I would say stick to your non-healing post op plan for protein, hydration, etc.

Try using my fitness pal or another tracking method. Have a daily menu planned out for the day and post it on the RNY daily menu. Allow yourself snacks but pre-plan what snacks your allowed to have and even a set time. You can overcome this by taking a deep breath and putting an action plan in place.

Great advice above and I would second that sometimes just not having things out keeps me on track. Just having to go to the pantry vs grabbing something off the counter is enough of a step to jog me into considering whether it?s head hunger, boredom, etc. staying hydrated helps too. good luck finding what works for you!!

Topic: Protein intake post op

Hi everyone!!

I am 12 years post op and have managed to.maintain my loss pretty well until COVID and remote working, which allowed for my grazing habit to kick in. I need to get on track. I order my protein and I'm getting ready. Does anyone know the recommended protein intake so far out? Am I supposed to follow the same guidelines (I think it was somewhere around 80 to 100g per day). Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated ?
