Back after a long time

Hello everyone! I'm Mersh and I used to chat here a lot a few years ago, or so. I ended up pulling away from everything because I went through a really bad time with an eating disorder where I had pretty much eaten far too little to sustain me and built up a hatred for food. I made myself sick and spent 5 months in a treatment center for anorexia. I gained weight while there that was so very needed and then spent the rest of my time after in therapy and trying to keep my head on straight.
I've decided after being unhappy with where my weight was allowed to settle that I would come back for support. Not sure how active these forums still are, but I'm looking forward to getting back to basics in a much healthier way than I did the first time.

Welcome back! Sorry to hear of your struggles!
the menu thread is still active in the RNY forum. Everyone is welcome there! Weekends are quiet but week days are usually fairly active.

Hi Mersh -- good to see you back here! I remember some of the challenges you were dealing with and glad you have made it through to where you are today. As Melody said, there's still pretty good activity on the RNY daily thread and you can contribute as much or as little as you like but there's great people there for support for sure!

Hi Mersh, I'm glad to hear you're in a better place than before. I had the Sadi DS in Nov 14 at about 300lbs as a 6'1 male. I was hoping to get down to 200lbs, with a stretch goal of 185lbs. A year after surgery I weighed 135 lbs and people would pray for me because they were all sure I was dying from cancer. Being too thin was a difficult experience to go thru. I had no say in my weight, and I believe everyones body gravitates to where it wants to be.
Eventually I gained back about 25+lbs and I'm comfortable with life regardless of weight now.
Good luck and stay healthy!
Great to see you back, Mersh! Yes, join us on the RNY board if you are up for it.
Are you still gaming? I've heard the new LEGO Star Wars is really good.
