I cancelled my surgery

I did the same thing 20 years ago. I was on the path for RNY. At that time, there was a requirement that I attend 5 group talk sessions before I got my date. I was on session 3. I was in my my late 20s and 280. I did not yet have my date, but was working toward it, and had every intention of going through with it. My family talked me out of it, and shortly thereafter, I got a different job that had different insurance that didn't pay for it anymore. So I couldn't even go there anymore. Fast forward 20 years, I'm about the same weight, scaring 50, and on 1/1/22, I start a new insurance plan that covers it. My initial consult is 1/20. The whole point of this is to show there are others who have balked for one reason or another. It's ok. Everyone is on their own path, but also on the same path.
