Eating like a crazy woman before pre-op diet starts

Unless you're joining a cult where you won't have access to any of the things you mention, you will be able to eat post-op. Couple of things to remember - they operate on your stomach not your head. Get your mind in the right place by the time surgery comes around. It's a learning experience - you didn't become obese overnight and you won't lose the weight overnight. It's a process. Post-op life is about balance - including food. Granted I had a different type of WLS, but it's all the same. Nothing is off-limits once you've lost your weight, but everything in moderation. You may not be able to eat an entire cheeseburger, but you can definitely have a piece of a cheeseburger. You shouldn't eat an entire chocolate bar, but you'll be able to have a small piece of chocolate or a couple of spoons of ice cream or a cookie - just not in the amounts pre-op.

It's all about moderation - after you've lost your weight.

It is very understandable what you are going through. I struggled with an overheating phase pre-op as well. I thought long and hard about the pros and cons of my mind wanting to have a pre-op party before the "real" work began and the cons far outweighed the pros. So I wrote out the reasons I was having surgery vs what might happen to my health if I did not have the surgery and put the list on my fridge as a reminder. That helped me to stop binge eating even when I wasn't hungry. Was I dedicated to my new journey or not? I decided heck ya, I was and would be!
