Good video on dieting from Royal Institute
How We Got the Science of Weight Loss Wrong - with Giles Yeo
Good talk from the Royal Institute. Despite the kinda click-bait-y title, I don't think there's anything controversial in the talk. It's all consistent with what I've learned from other reliable sources. But he has a knack for explaining things clearly. He talks about something that has long puzzled me: why do low-calorie and low-carb diets work about equally well, when they are so different? The answer, apparently, is that on both of those diets, and most other popular diets, you naturally end up eating more protein and fibre, both of which make you feel fuller.
Giles Yeo is fantastic at breaking down complex topics into something easy to digest (pun intended). I've noticed the same thing with diets--no matter the approach, higher protein and fiber seem to be the common denominator for making them work. It's interesting how simple tweaks like focusing on those can lead to better results without over-complicating things.
If you're thinking of sharing talks like this or creating your own breakdowns on YouTube, good editing can make your videos stand out.
