I am sorry you are going through a hard time and wish you well on your upcoming surgery. Any surgery is scary to me so I understand.

I am so sorry to hear that it's been a struggle!

Has your surgeon provided you with a list of things to add/remove from your current nutrition plan? Hoping for healing and comfort in the upcoming months. You have all of us to support you and send you our well wishes!

HUGS!!!

I am surfing the net. I haven't received anything. I know that I am starting over. All I know is that I am on liquids for 2 to 3 weeks.

The last time I tried to drink protein drinks I would get very sick. So most of my protein ended up being food. Couldn't handle protein drinks.

I do need support. As it gets closer and more real than anything I am getting very nervous and worried that I will have the same issues I did the first time. But I cant live with the ulcer any longer. One bite of food and it will upset everything. Also, not to mention throwing up.

Maybe I will lose some weight too. I have gained weight through the years and it would be nice to lose 25 to 30lbs.

This is certainly a struggle..sorry you are going thru...being nervous about another surgery and not tolerating the commercial high protein drinks is a real problem.. You might consider seeing if dr will prescribe you an unflavored one to flavor with something else.. like one of the suggestions i have below...

How do you handle milk? I don't handle it at all. but many do.. remember full liquids is anything liquid at room temperature. puddings would fall in this- tho not wise. sugar free items make some people hungry so be careful with your selections lest you be one of those...

You could even use whole milk - even lactose free to make your own high protein drink- like a non alcoholic egg nog...liquid multivitamins will get your balanced nutrition in. You need to discuss this with your surgeon so he/she can give you the vitamin/nutritional support you need for good healing.. high protein will be vital to your recovery.

To make a nutritious protein drink...take your meats and pressure them-(instapot) til the bones are tender, include one clean egg shell w/o the egg and a teaspoon of vinegar.. it will extract the minerals from t he bone to make a nutritious broth.. when you open the pot throw away the egg shell. there is something in the membrane that helps the extraction of minerals from the bone...). the liquid when chilled sets up like jello is high in minerals and protein...when heated is liquid...so works on a full liquid diet.. Do not microwave broth to re heat.- it destroys the nutritional benefits of what you have done.
