I need a personal grocery shopper!
Great idea! Maybe I can drag my sister or brother with me. I might try to order online and pick up the groceries. I just learned there is a store locally that does online ordering but it's a little ways away. I am pretty picky when to comes to selecting my meats and produce so not sure if I could order online all the time.
You said "I can't get the hang of the meal planning either because I am the kind of person that can't figure out what I feel like eating on a daily basis let alone a few days or a week ahead.".
I don't cook, and I don't meal plan. You would think that would be a recipe for disaster, but I've made it work so far. These days there are more healthy low-calorie pre-made meals, but you have to look for them. Here in Ireland there's a company that makes vegan meals. They weren't specifically designed for dieters, but I have found that all of their meals work for me. A half-serving fills me up, is low in calories, and high in protein. With a few of their meals, some veggie burgers, some lentil or bean dish packages, some staples like carrot sticks and hommous, smoothie ingredients, nuts and sultanas for trail mix, and fresh fruit, I'm set for the week. No meal planning, and the closest I come to cooking is heating up something or mixing my own trail mix.
Except for every once in awhile, I don't like to cook either! Where I live (out in the sticks) we don't have many grocery store options and the ones we do have a lot of locally "staple" prepackaged meals and almost none that I can find that I like. I know I could find somethings at a Trader Joes or Whole Foods Market but we don't have any close by. They are hours away. I used to live close to both of those stores and loved them. It's great that you have been able to make it all work for you without having to cook or plan!
