6-7 weeks post - vomiting and nauseous
Seems that what they think. I just am unsure since I can eat food.... not much anymore but it goes down.
I seem to eat sick before I eat or when my stomach is empty. Wouldn't a stricture cause food to come up?
my surgeon was nice enough yesterday, tried to follow up today but she was in surgeries and her secretary didn't seem to care. Have an appointment Tuesday though.
I had to go in for a stricture twice - one at four weeks out and one at eight weeks out. I can't remember if I vomited or not - maybe. I just know I got what felt like bad acid reflux after I ate. I knew something was wrong since acid reflux is not a normal side effect of RNY (in fact, it often cures it if you had it before surgery). It could be that they caught mine before it progressed to the point I couldn't keep anything down. The second time it came on (at eight weeks out), I knew what it was and got in right away.
Hi, I am going thru the same thing and I am now on the 7th week and this problem started on week 6.
What worries me is that I also sometimes get palpitations, cold sweats, dizziness (not dumping syndrome). My doctors thinks it's a REFLUX which is common in the early months, but I feel it's more than that.
My blood works were ok, endoscopy and ct scan were also ok. I am curious to know if you recovered from this and after how long and what helped you.
Thank you :-) meant to post but all the tests, phone calls, and stupidity of work/short-term disability/my surgeon office sitting on documents; my brain has been a mess.
I'm still really rough but they found an ulcer a few days ago when I finally got a scope done. I just started some meds to help yesterday (Sucralfate liquid four times a day and a upped dose of my acid reflux med).
today I was alright, still nauseous and a few bad moments but I was able to eat a decent amount for the first time. And today's one day where I haven't vomited yet...
not sure what the recovery is for an ulcer or if this is going to be my new normal (medication wise). I'm also worried that once this is better I'll find complication number 3 :-/
anyone deal with ulcers early in? Do they go away? Am I going to be on meds and watching them forever now?
