I had my surgery yesterday and I'm home today. I feel like I'm in more pain at home in my own bed, it's just a lot of gas pain. I am getting a heating pad. I've also had trouble drinking because I noticed it doesn't help with the gas pain. Any advice?

Walk, walk, walk. That and time is the only thing to help the gas dissipate. It's under your skin from where they blow up your abdomen so they can see what they're doing. It will be gone in a couple of days, hang in there!! And congratulations, welcome to the Loser's Bench!

the heating pad will help a lot with the gas plus walking all you can.

drink anyway, you don't want to get dehydrated. That will make everything worse.

I'm feeling pretty good! Most pain I've had turned into little-none!

That's good to hear! You are going to enjoy having your body work with you as you lose weight, instead of fighting you every step of the way. I've lost all my excess weight, and my BMI is now on the low side of normal. It feels great.

Do be careful not to overdo things. After surgery, I found I could go from feeling like I could run a marathon to needing to sit down NOW in the space of a few seconds. Be active if you can, but be prepared to tire easily.
