No insurance for weight loss surgery

Hello. My situation is that I do not have insurance coverage for weight loss surgery which I desperately need. I have credit cards that I could use but the interest would be through the roof and I learned my lesson the hard way when it comes to that. I know I cannot get a loan through my bank at this point. Has anyone else been in this same situation and if so, were you able to find a way for reasonable financing some how?

I was in your position and had my surgeries in Mexico, at a huge fraction of the cost in the US.

Some groups there offer a payment plan with a down payment.

Many ppl travel worldwide for affordable surgical options. Google " medical tourism". Heart surgeries and orthopedic surgeries along with WLS are done there.

Thank you for responding. I'll check out medical tourism and will look locally for a surgeon that might take payments as I prefer not to travel but I will if I have to!

Hi Summerjoe,

In my research before surgery I found that several centers close to me work with patient credit care programs . I can't remember the names of the programs but if you call your local bariatric centers they should know of the details. Good luck!

You can do It without surgery. You just have to take it one day at a time. It will take longer, but the results will last longer. Just walk on a consistent basis and eat healthier meals, 3x a day. if you cant cook meals make them in advance. It is a lot for surgery and you shouldn't have to go into debt if it something that you can prevent. try it for a couple of months and see how it works out. and drink LOTS of water.
