Gastric Band problems after almost 10 years
Hello everyone,
Be nice to me, I'm a newbie ??
Heres the short story;
2013 Gastric Band Fitted (weighed 330lbs)
2015 Gastric Band removed. Couldn't cope with the side effects of puking up etc) weighed 305lbs)
2021 Have lived a healthy life and become an official member of the type 2 diabetes club. I currently weigh 204lbs.
My situation is this. Yesterday, I was blue lighted to the hospital with severe pains in my sternum which could have been a heart attack. After 100 different tests, my heart and lungs were given the all clear
Today, the pain has subsided somewhat, but I still feel very uncomfortable between my breasts(man breasts!!), my windpibe hurts, it hurts when I eat, and I can't eat very much.
One of my nurse friends tells me that 'fungus in the eosophegus" is a possibility.
Anyone else had ANYTHING like this at all, please share, thanks.
Best wishes from Denmark

do you still have your gallbladder? Gallbladder disease can manifest like this.
Also, GERD, esophageal reflux disease can make you think you are having a heart attack.
the esophagus pain and pain when eating sounds like reflux but you should see your primary care physician to rule out both of those conditions.
Thanks for the response. In the past, Ive never had acid reflux issues, but the gall bladder suggestion is worth checking out. I found out today, that I am being sent for a gastroscopy next week, so fingers crossed, they can suss it out. Still VERY uncomfortable. Enjoy your day ?
you may have "silent reflux" thst you don't even know about. I had silent frolic for years and years and never had any clue. It was found during a sleep study do fo t rule it out just because you don't think you have it. That's what texting is for.
glad you will have your gallbladder checked.
keep us posted.
