My Thanksgiving Grocery List and Cooking Timeline
I have prepared the same Thanksgiving Dinner for many years. Turkey breast, gravy, stuffing, salad, waldorf salad, relish tray with cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, brussels spouts, corn, waldorf salad, and pies. To make sure I don't forget anything and that everything is ready on time, I long ago created a schedule and grocery list.
I always do my turkey in an oven bag.
I am sharing, because I think it is funny that I get into this much detail. Of course I did a lot of project management in my life.
Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
I was not born or raised that way. Some of my college courses were in project management and whenever I do any project, I have to have a detailed plan and stick to it. My daily, weekly, monthly and yearly housekeeping chores used to fill a loose leaf binder. Now I keep them on One Drive and just print out the one I need for the day.

Thank you SO MUCH for posting this !
For us Thanksgiving cooking -at-home newbies ( or just foreign transplants - Thanksgiving is uniquely American holiday ) figuring out what to cook when is a giant PITA !
I baked my low fat low sugar apple and cherry pies yesterday ( and found out why commercial streusel topping contains no brown sugar ) - because it turns black and unattractive being baked any more than muffin length.
Oh well ... live and learn. The pies still taste good and will DEFINITELY look homemade lol ! 5 grams of fat per slice of pie this way ( used the lowest fat pre made crust available - Pillsbury ) vs 20 for a commercial open faced pie
Also cooked fresh SF cranberry sauce using one bag cranberries , one jar fruit only apricot preserves and some Truvia - yum!
This morning - fresh green bean casserole using fresh mushroom and mushroom soup base, FF half n half n butter buds
Make Stove Top stuffing using fresh celery, carrots, herbs, butter buds and organic chicken stock - stuff pre - roasted " Peruvian" chicken ( there are only three of us eating)
Make fresh Matzoh ball soup ( from mix) using organic chicken stock
Make fresh gravy using same.
Take over 'rents at noon and serve
This is going to be our first traditional Thanksgiving meal together in like twenty years ! And its All about Family ... not so much the Feast
