Has anyone had their surgery postponed?

Besides the Covid virus, I am wondering what reasons the surgeon might cancel or postpone surgery? Does anyone have any experience with this?

My surgery was postponed because my surgeon had a family emergency and had to leave the state for a few weeks. It was finally rescheduled a month later.

Mine was not postponed but a friend of mine had his cancelled because he didn't lose enough lose enough weight prior to surgery. (Surgeon required) And also, he did not attend all of the required pre-op classes and support group meetings.

not my RNY, but I had one of my plastic surgeries postponed. The surgeon broke his wrist the night before. He said he could still try it if I wanted him, too, but I said no - I was fine with postponing! (don't know how he would have done it with a broken wrist - unless one of his residents did while he (the surgeon) supervised? nope - I'd rather the surgeon do it...)
