Even though I have an excellently working RNY nine years post op I would urge you to look into the DS.
Most folks *****gain go back to eating highly fatty foods - you can eat as much of those as you want and not regain with a DS .
Check out the DS board here - there are many long term happy vets who can give you great advice

Please don't imply that you can eat anything you want with the DS and not gain weight. The DS also requires that you change your eating habits. If you eat sugar you will gain weight with the DS. You'll also be totally miserable from all the gas and bloating.
Yes I am a long term happy vet but it's taken me 18 years (and counting). I work hard at the DS every single day. I have to make sure I eat properly (lots of protein), get all my vitamins in, drink the right amount of water. I battle osteoporosis and iron deficiency anemia.
I think the DS is a great WLS but it's not necessarily for everyone.

JANET - Thank you, so much, for posting this!!! I am 18+ years post RNY, with several glinches, along this journey...But I try to do MOST things "right", and get back on track ASAP, after I run amuck :)
As WE know - but not everyone realizes, ANYONE can out-eat, etc ANY surgery...Surgery ALONE just won't sustain you...PERIOD..
If only there WAS some magic...

We Can Do Hard Things
That is great, you are making headway in the right direction. The EGD will help to determine if there is a mechanical breakdown with the RNY or if there is just a need for revision at this point. It is the proper procedure they should be following, so it sounds like you have a good team handling your care. Let us know how things turn out with the next Dr.
