Thank you!

I just want to make sure I am on the right track and whatever is on the list, states "bariatric" I think is preferred.

That might not be the best solution because "bariatric" on the label doesn't tell you what is in the vitamin.

Early on, someone here said to look at the ASMBS site and learn their supplement guidelines (American society for metabolic and bariatric surgery) -- this lets you understand what your requirements are (for example that we would typically need 200% of an RDA for some things) and then you can find what works for you/monitor with your labs.

With that in mind, I settled on 2 Centrum Silver multivitamins a day; proferrin as my iron, sublingual b12 3x a week and I do use the Celebrate calcium chews because I like them best.

(also, I Used a pill splitter vs chewables early on, no issues and I've been told that RNY shouldn't have gummy versions because they don't get broken down correctly in our systems).

good luck finding what works for you! The most important thing is consistency with your vitamins and your labs -- and keep track of the numbers, it would help you see a negative trend before you are in big trouble.

This one does tell you what's in it, right on the label or I wouldn't have recommended it or continued taking it. It was also recommended by my bariatric surgeon. It gives 200% or more RDA of most things and well within the ASMB recommendations. As I stated previously, my labs come back with great levels every year with this vitamin.

That?s Great!

My response/concern was the OP saying anything with bariatric on the label seemed better (paraphrasing), not your specific recommendation.

Thank you so far, everyone! I am just so terrified of becoming deficient in something.

There used to be some amazingly knowledgeable vitamin experts on here - who, if you posted your lab results would even custom formulate vitamins to optimize your body's health and functioning.

Wish they'd return!

I've tried several and there are a lot out there that are really fun/tasty and you don't feel like you are taking vitamins.

Bariatric Advantage has a bunch of soft chews, Bariatric Fusion, Celebrate, ProCare have some fun flavors as well.

You can find a lot of options at the OH events. They usually have the names of the companies that are exhibiting so keep an eye out
