I am wondering it any of you regret having weight loss surgery? I am so nervous about the whole process. One day I am all in and another I am not.

No I am absolutely happy every single day that I got it.

Only wish I had insisted on it ( or even learned about it sooner)

I am 7 weeks out and feel that way sometimes but I know it's frustration and I get over it quickly. I know this was for the best. I am stick trying to find some options for the next week till I am able to eat solid protein rather than soupy, mashed mixtures. I knew I would have minor meltdowns so I have prepared for them. but I am still human and dig my heels in the dirt sometimes.

I can totally relate to what you are saying as I was also frustrated with the mashed/purée meals as well. My favorite one was refried beans - heated up and then add cheese and salsa and run through the food chopper. So delicious as a first semi-normal meal.

Most people whose lives could be so much better will never get the surgery, due to that fear.

I'm 17+ years post-op.

Regrets? I have many. But not my RNY.

Oh, it hasn't always been a rose garden. Early post-op was tough. Extra skin wasn't fun. Getting it removed wasn't fun either.

RNY opened up new and exciting possibilities.

Good luck,

Tek

I asked this same question to the doctor's nurse just before my wls. I'll always remember the answer - Many people still have challenges after wls, but in 20 years, no one has ever asked for the fat back.

Sadly, a fair chunk of post-ops manage to get it back on their own.
