Does anyone have a favorite powder and/or ready to drink protein shake?

Being a laid off GNC store Manager I will tell you the GNC Lean Shake Burn doesn't get enough Love. I use the Strawberry powder and Love the caffeine boost and it still has plenty of flavor if I only want to do 1/2 a serving.

Between WLS and working GNC I know my protein .... So here are some thoughts since you are a not a newbie.

While RTD to drink shakes are convenient they are not particularly filling and especially further out when your pouch can handle more. I do find the Premier very good for recipes- Protein pancakes, muffins etc, as well as hot drinks... Chai Latte with the vanilla, or the chocolate into a hot chocolate. I do love the Premier Latte flavor with a half scoop of chocolate in the blender with ice as a frappe.

Powders in general are more filling. If you do not like the volume make them in the blender or shaker with with no ice, and pour over ice.

Consider Proteins that are a mix of Whey and Casein- Casein is just as absorbable but it has a thicker consistency and keeps you full longer. The reason they do not recommend to newbies is it has less Leucine which is the best amino acid to prevent muscle breakdown. Further out when you are eating plenty of food that is less of a concern.

Proteins with a mix of Casein and Whey: Quest, Jym, some Syntrax. Use all three. In Syntrax I love the Mint Cookies and Cream. Jym I love the vanilla and the Rocky Road, Quest I use the baking mix (unflavored) have use Peanut Butter, and their Cinnamon Crunch. I am sure there are other brands.

I also buy pure Casein - for Chocolate I buy the six star brand at Walmart, and vanilla Pro performance from GNC. Straight casein can make very thic**** cream especially with a little xatham gum added.

If you like really creamy smoothies make them in a blender **** or no ice as mentioned your choice) and add 1/4 tsp of xatham gum. You can get in the healthy food section. Made by Bob's Red Mill. Less is more or it will make it gummy.

Thank you for your input. I didn't realize about the whey/casein mixtures. I'm going to have to check it out.

I love the Premier Protein shakes! Strawberries and Cream and Bananas and Cream are two of my favorites. I haven't tried the ones with oats in them yet but I am anxious to.

I'm trying to stay away from the oats since I feel I am indulging too much on carbs. I will see what flavors are at my local shop. I have to be in a mood for "the & cream flavors". I may just need to look at the caramel or the cookies one

I just had an Unjury shake this morning! I need to get some of the chicken soup mix. I miss having that one around

Unjury makes my favorite shakes they have ready to drink shakes and protein powders, My favorite has to be the Classic Chocolate although Vanilla is a great base as well for lots of recipes too. I love creating all kinds of recipes using protein to enhance them. It becomes fun and challenging when I get to play with ingredients.
