Pre vs Post Surgery food preferences

Are there any foods that you would never eat prior to surgery that you have grown to like/love now that you have undergone WLS? Trying to venture out and try new things and need some ideas!

I love cottage cheese, I put a flex flavor in a one serving cup and it gives me what I need on the go! I think the one I have recently gravitated to is by Good Culture.

Interestingly yogurt. I hated the texture of it pre-op. I actually like it now. Taste changes right after surgery were much more heightened. Now it's just food as usual. I basically eat most of the same foods I ate before surgery, just less of it (except for protein).

I love fat free sour cream, fat free Greek yogurt and fat free real yogurt lol!

Also skim milk made from powder, eye round beef and lean pork loin cooked soft ...( a la beef stroganoff) .

I use a TON of butter solids minus the fat in my cooking ( butter buds ) .

There is a lot to be recommended for knowing how to eat to NOT gain weight when you must binge. You won't lose but thank God when you wake up ... you'll be the same weight or just a coupla lbs more .

You know what's even better? Addressing the stuff in your head so you don't binge at all, and you're not deathly phobic of dietary fats.

Thanks Ava!

I think one of my most "success tools", for lack of a better thing to call it, right this minute:

I don't DEPRIVE myself of qualify, satisfying food. I don't use any FAT/LOW fat ANYTHING. I am very stingy, about what real estate goes into my body. I get to have what I WANT, so I don't have a need to BINGE...

Boy, have I come a long way !!!

Being born, and bred (and BREAD), in Texas, I thought fish only came in BATTERED and FRIED...the thought of eating it baked/grilled...and LAWD, help us all...RAW...would never...ever...never...have passed my brain...much less my taste buds...

Who knew????? I don't even remember WHEN I took a bite of FRIED fish, and literally gagged...like a big goopy of greasy crap...

So...to answer the OP's question, I'll go with non-battered/fried fish...I love Fish Tacos...I don't usually anything, but the insides...Just depends, on my mood, on where I am
