Gummy Vitamins
I am now a little over 5 years post op and I have been taking the bariatric chewable vitamins. I am getting
tired of the taste... too chalky for me even after trying several flavors. Wondering if anyone takes the gummy vitamins? If so, how many? I have been taking the gummy calcium and love the taste so I thought about switching over my vitamin to gummies. Your thoughts and suggestions? Thanks in advance.
I had my surgery 10 years ago...last year..and I take the gummy vitamins and they are good...I take 2 B12 gummy, 2 biotin gummy, and 2 of the multi vitamins...and I've been doing good with those...
Is there a reason you don't take pills? I am not sure gummies have all the nutrients we need in them.

I like the chewing part of taking vitamins and I think I would like the taste. As far as the nutrients in dummies....? That's what I'm wondering about.

My program said no gummy versions, ever, we don't break them down well enough to get all the nutrients. Chewable ok but gummy no.

You want your vitamins to get you to 200% RDA of all vitamins and minerals. You can do that with regular vitamin pills just as well as you can with bariatric chewables.
Gummy vitamins are not recommended because you would need to take a very large dose, maybe even three or four doses, to reach those numbers. That many gummies would have far too much sugar.

Be careful of gummy calcium. Last I checked, they were all tricalcium phosphate or calcium carbonate. You won't absorb either of those very well, at all. We really, really need calcium citrate.

The good news is that you CAN get calcium citrate in soft-chews (like starburst). Bariatric Fusion brand makes them in several flavors.
