Mentally having hard time loosing weight
on 1/26/20 6:32 pm
I'm a compulsive eater. I binge and make lots of mistakes. I have no advice that isn't hypocritical. But I do know when I feel like I'm slipping, I brush and floss my teeth. If it doesn't pass I drink several bottles of water and then get in my car and drive to the post office and check my mail (no street delivery in our town). Even on a Sunday I will go there. It just gets me out of the house. I don't get sleeved until 2-5-20. When I started this journey I was eating lots of dill pickles, salad greens with vinegar only, normandy vegetables by the ton cooked in salt free chicken bullion. Eventually the cravings lessened but they aren't gone yet. I don't know if you have had surgery yet or not. I do wish you the best and hope you overcome this.
VSG does not SOLVE any issues. It minimizes some and amplifies others, but it it a tool...NOT a magic transformation. I found that identifying and working my on disordered eating issues prior to VSG was instrumental in my success.

No weight loss surgery solves all problems. The problem is in us and we have to fix our issues in order to be successful. The surgery is just a tool and you can have regain with any surgery and at anytime!
I do agree tracking is important and meal prep is too. I am losing regain that I put on but this really is a life long change and you will always have to adjust things from time to time to ensure you are maintaining your weight loss.
