RNY vs VSG which did you choose and why?

Always RNY. They only rearrange your body not cut anything out. If you need to reverse it you sill have your guts there to do so. If you go VSG you have no option of going back. Only my opinion. Plus not acid reflux with RNY.

I had GERD but also had a hiatal hernia which was repaired at the time of my VSG. I lost all my excess weight and the GERD has not returned at almost 4 years out. No guarantee that it won't return but I felt more comfortable with VSG because it doesn't have the same risks for low iron, ulcers, etc. which can occur with RNY. My surgeon would have done either but currently are mostly doing VSG.
