Anyone 10+ years post op Rny? I have been cramping bad, when I get dehydrated. The solution used in the prep for a colonoscopy im sure will make me very dehydrated. Has anyone done one and survived any cramping from Dehydration? Thanks for your feedback..

I make number three. Have actually had more than one over the last ten years with absolutely zero problems.

Maybe it depends on the bowel prep used? Because I had to drink over a gallon of liquid bowel prep immediately prior to the test. Was only without fluids for maybe eight to ten hours.

No issue here and was even easier post the weight loss vs. my prior experience. Likely due to all the weight loss ;)

I take Miralax nightly, so this was just 3x the dose if I recall. I didn't even buy a different bottle - just used my normal supply.

But you know your body best and how you'll have to adapt to get well hydrated before the procedure. I don't have that issue and didn't the period before my procedure.

Why are you allowing yourself to become dehydrated in the first place? You should make it your job to drink at least 100oz of fluids every day. If you did that, you wouldn't have to worry about the colonoscopy.

I think she means getting dehydrated, from all the "cleansing", from the bowel prep

I don't think so, Gina. She says she gets dehydrated and has cramping. Doesn't appear she is prepping for the colonoscopy yet. She's wondering if prepping will cause dehydration. ???? At least that's my take on it.

I have had 5. Am 17 years out Had no problem rehydrating immediately afterward, Should you really need them, IV fluids can be infused. Ask BEFOREHAND
