Displaying your surgery date

When I answer a question on this forum, the first thing I check is if/when they had their surgery. (You can see my surgery date just above this post, on the right.) That's because the advice I give someone two weeks after surgery will often be very different than what I tell someone who had surgery a year ago. So if you haven't already done so, here's how to make sure your surgery date appears on all your posts:

  1. Click on the gear icon at the top right of the page.
  2. Select "Medical History".
  3. Click "Add surgery".

Thank you SO much for this info., Wombat .. For some reason, my surgery info. disappeared off my posts some time back. My profile info. also now shows I have supposedly been an OHer only since "8/08", which is NOT correct. I joined quite some time before my surgery date of 8/12/06. I'm thinking maybe the website "hiccuped" some time ago and lost/messed up some of the info. that was on it before (?)

Also, come to think of it .. seems many years back our surgical info. also displayed our surgeon's name. When I just now put in my surgery info again, it in fact asked for the name and location of my surgeon, in order to do a search for him on the website. It found him (Dr. Antelmo Sasso-Fin in Brazil) and asked me if in fact that was the correct one, which I put in that it was. However, his name is not showing up on my surgical info.. Perhaps the "powers that be" don't want the surgeons' names displayed anymore b/c it might be considered "free advertising/publicity" for them, or perhaps out of concern that that might somehow be considered an "endorsement" of the surgeons by OH?
