How do you stay motivated?

My motivation started at 34-35. I had a partially detached retina from diabetic retinopathy. It was fixable but it's an issue I still have to keep up with. I've had 20+ shots in my eyes. 3 eye surgeries. It's pretty sobering. All because of type two diabetes.

I was taking 5 shots of insulin a day. Metformin, blood pressure & cholesterol meds. I was also taking gobs of insulin in each shot.

you have to be accountable...to yourself! I lied to myself and only drenched myself in guilt. It just snowballs. I've found i'm The only one who can keep my motivation going. It's hard! You have to learn to do it and there are down times but you just have to keep going.

I weigh myself every single morning and write the number down. I also track every thing in My Fitness Pal. My motto is, If I bite it, I must write it.

The main reason for weight gain is being in denial.

When you know what you are eating and what you weigh, then you can easily make adjustments.

I've been obsessed all my life, but I want to change. I hate how when I go out to shop for new clothes, I can only look at the limited selection of XXLs. I want to look good and stop being ashamed about weird chair creaks during lessons, or having to schooch between the small space between desks to get to my seat.

It's really really really hard to change. I've been trying to lose weight since earlier this year. I've hired a person trainer for a short-lived lessons due to limited funds, I've asked my friend to be my training buddy (but she's pretty fit and won't get tired after only a few minutes). I've tried eating healthy for a while, but hot food felt so much better than a plate of cold salad. I've tried skipping breakfast, to only have two meals per day, because I don't have the patience for small meals once per a few hours...

I'm planning to hit the gym again starting tomorrow. But I'm afraid of losing that motivation. I feel really bad whenever I've failed at trying to lose weight. How do you guys go about cheering yourself through this challenge?

I had weight loss surgery...

How did I get motivated?

I was finally miserable enough to make a drastic change and I stopped looking at food as a comfort tool. So, I had surgery to help me through the weight loss part and saw a counselor for the "head issues" part. That is what has kept me a statistical success in terms of weight loss.

While surgery is not for everyone, what is true (for everyone) is that NUTRITION is key. We have to give our bodies the nutrients they need without consuming extra calories (fuel). But, most of us have been overfilling our gas tanks for years!

The exercise may help you feel better, more toned, confident, etc., but it won't get you to your goal alone.

My suggestion would be to find a nutritionist to help you figure out what macronutrients and calories you need along with suggested meals and an eating schedule. (Two meals per day likely isn't enough to keep your metabolism rev'd up so weight loss stalls, motivation plummets and the vicious cycle continues.)

It sounds like you'd be a perfect candidate for WLS . Medicare pays for 80 percent it and if you don't make much money now you may even qualify for Medicaid which pays 100 percent . And of course your work insurance could also pay .

Statistically all our exercise and dieting efforts barely help - if you're morbidly obese you need surgical intervention to have a great and not excess weight-( and the many serious ills associated with that weight ) ruined rest of your life .

A good bariatric surgeons team is expert at managing the insurance - look up a free seminar in your area .

First of all i want to appriciate your all the efforts which you do till now And 2nd you just need to try one more in a diffrent way.

If you get bored by your exercise then mix it up with diffrent sports like you can play soccer, Badminton and there are many sports which can you to reduce your weight.

Third you can create exictment for yourself by buying new things for your jogging, like one day you can buy new shoes, 2nd week you can buy skipping ropes and so on.

Fourth is try to find a guy like you or listen music while you are exrecising so you can't get bored.

May be in this way you can get motivated and hope so my comment helps you and others as well!
