Hey, OH Mods
What's with all of the censorship lately? You have moved entire threads to another forum -- and then licked not only tg at thread, but the ENTIRE forum as well. No new posts at all.
When I went to ask about this on the thread just below, I found that it was locked as well.
Traffic on this site has been dropping steadily. It seems to me that a sure way to drive the final nails through your own coffin is to stop further dialogue before it begins.
It seems like you'll just go ahead and move this post to a defunct board, lock it, or delete it entirely. If you do, it will be the last post you'll see from me.

Every few years management and mods come up with a strategy to control the boards.
They've never learned that it just pushes people away from what was once a thriving forum. It's a shame because there are people here regularly who are 5, 10, 15 ++ years out of surgery. We have stayed despite all of the drama and policy changes etc.
There is nothing to be gained by members having a forum full of people who are new to the lifestyle after WLS.

The thread from MS was locked as it was a notice only that threads would be moved if off topic. That has been the normal procedure that if a post is off topic it will be moved. We did get report posts that it was a distraction and asked if it could be moved along with some of the people posting be banned. That is not our SOP on moderation. We only moderate posts that are in violation of TOS and rarely ban people, ever.
In order for us to address the report posts, the post in question was moved to an appropriate forum. However, I am not sure why that forum is locked now, but I will have our IT Staff look into it.
Thank you,
Member Services
Honestly, OH is so slow now, moving posts to forums none of us even knew existed seems very short sighted.
As a mod you can unlock posts and forums with one click. I do it in OH groups I admin all the time!
I haven't seen any reason to ban anyone, so I 100 per cent agree with you on that. People should just block or scroll by if they don't like something or someone - we're all adults and need to conduct ourselves as such!
I know that certain members (yappy dog) have attempted to control OH in the past by spamming Member Services and look where we all ended up - in private groups that have more traffic than main boards - it makes zero sense!
I hope OH does everything it can to encourage lively discussion and doesn't let a few whiners kill off this place. Many of us rely on OH as our sole source of support

Those of us who have remained on this site to pay it forward to newbies are the lifeblood of OH. The people who have complained to MODS,and forced people into private groups to have lively discussions (yappy dog), are no longer here providing support. We get a yearly "drive by" posting about how great they are, but they don't stick around to help on a daily basis.
OH...if we long term vets decide to move on...you are in deep trouble.
Kim, we appreciate your feedback and agree with you wholeheartedly that people should block or scroll past threads they do not find useful or a distraction. We notify people of the block feature when they report a post that does not violate TOS and encourage them to use it. Some do, some don't.
OH has always encouraged lively discussion as long as it did not violate TOS. In the past, some discussions have taken a turn that resulted in some minor violations, which were addressed directly with those individuals. Other times, OP pulled their post on their own. I assure you, there is light moderation by OH unless it is a direct violation as I have said OR if there are multiple report posts. At that time, we have to take a deeper look and make a decision. Sometimes we cannot do anything about the post and we leave it which results in people being upset with us. Other times we pull it and we still upset people. We cannot please everyone, unfortunately, and only step in when necessary for this reason.
Our standard protocol for moving a thread is to notify the OP. This was done, although that person still asked where her post went, so it seems that she is not getting or reading her emails or PM's which is normal.
We appreciate the support of our members and value each of them as they lend their voice to the community to help those who come here for support and encouragement. This journey is difficult for many, either due to lack of support or lack of knowledge and understanding about what to do to be successful. We feel that we have a very valuable membership base that helps those who are seeking info, especially since there are many here who have that long term experience that people look to.
We support each and everyone here and we hope that they will do the same for OH
I had a comment removed without any notification or explanation. Yes, I spoke about OP but not nearly as bad as other comments that were left, and I didn't say anything rude. Very disappointed. I haven't posted much in a while due to personal issues, but you can guarantee I won't bother anymore after this.
Cathy, can you tell me which post you are referring to? I do not remember any posts by you being removed unless it was a response to a thread that was pulled. Keep in mind if the original post is pulled all the responses aka children of that thread are deleted as well. You as a replier to the OP would not get a notification, only the person who had the violation would.
If I am thinking of the one you are referring to, the OP was actually reported for a personal attack on someone and that thread was pulled for multiple report posts. Nothing else. So, if YOU are in violation, you will be notified. But, if your comment is removed it is usually because the OP was pulled.
The so - called ? personal ? insult was that I called the poster who uses DR NO as ( obviously not ) her avatar ?ugly ? . I made it clear that she was ugly inside to b constantly accusing and besmirching m . Obviously ( and I said so ) the avatar isn?t her and I wasn?t referring to her physical appearance since she gives no clue of it .
i really admire dedicated Dr No and clearly his inside self is GORGEOUS:

You said no such thing. You also accused the poster of binging on McDonald's.
