Lab Result, Please Help!
Carbonyl iron also bothers my gut. Even heme - I can on;y take so much before my gut has a fit.
Even though even carbonyl iron bothers me, the other iron salts are truly horrible for me

You want your Ferritin above 50. Below 50 you could get symptomatic. Ideal for me is around 160.
B12 is fine if it is high, but you could cut it back a little to save money. B12 is a water soluble vitamin and your body uses what it needs and eliminates the rest. That could be some expensive pee if you are taking too much B12. LOL! I keep my B12 number at around 1500.... Still high... but I like a cushion since my B12 tanks fast.
You don't have to take vit C with heme iron, it helps with the uptake of non heme iron, but it shouldn't do any harm.
3 x daily is a great place to start if you are iron deficient. Make sure you get regular lab tests to check and adjust the dose as necessary
