It has been about ten yrs since I had my surgery and I have started gaining weight. I know why I am eating the wrong foods but does anyone have any suggestions or tricks on how to get back on track. Any ideas welcome.

Thank you

1 - drink more water

2- throw all the crap out of your pantry

3- exercise daily

4- throw all the crap out of your freezer

5 - write what you eat down. If you bite it, you write it.

6- throw all the crap out period. No junk food, limited processed foods, and no liquid calories. If you don't recognize it in nature, you probably shouldn't be eating it. I never saw a double stuffed oreo in nature. I have seen shrimp and zuchinni in nature.

I struggle with this myself. I buy junk. I eat junk. It's easy to keep that junk around with having kids.

This is my biggest struggle ... having 4 children 1 of which is far far too slim so needs a certain amount of junk (taken a year almost to gain 2lbs - I'm gaining it instead ?).

Any chance there are a few food they really like that you don't are for? You can stock up on those! That's what I did for the hubby!

I think this is a great idea! I have to do it too :*/

I buy Orville popcorn because it's the only kind of popcorn I don't like.

I also only get Wal-Mart brand ice cream because it tastes like they make it with water and I couldn't care less for it lol

These kinds of substitutions save me everyday!

I struggle with this. I have 4 slim kids and one child who is obese. I feel like I'm penalizing the whole family but that is what we need to eat to stay healthy. I do keep nuts and popcorn for my kids to snack on but I've limited junk foods. I use the Wal-Mart app to pick up my groceries. I'm not going into the store so I'm less likely to buy junk.

Your feelings of guilt over penalizing the entire family are natural, and I felt exactly the same way until my support team helped me understand one thing; my healthy eating isn't just healthy for me, it is also healthy for them. Guilt gone.

Yes, yes, and yes!

Throw it all away lol I heard somewhere that self control is a limited resource so we have to be careful with how we use it. We can be strong and drive past all those fast food places, we can ignore the bagels in the break room, we can even not let all the billboards and TV commercials get to us, but after a long day and using up our self control, if we come home and see tasty, easy to make, unhealthy food in the kitchen, we can't always say no yet again.

Make it harder to go out and eat the unhealthy stuff than it is to eat something you should be. Make life as easy for you as possible!

The only thing that works for me is dieting. I thought I would never have to diet again once I had weight loss surgery. I was sadly mistaken.

There are many different plans out there. Jenny Craig, Noom, Weigh****chers, and many more. They all work if you are willing to do the work and follow the program. What does not work is just plugging along and eating what you want.

The magic of weight loss surgery is over and if you want to lose weight you need to diet.

Real life begins where your comfort zone ends

Stay away from the for-profit diet plans, they are designed with your failure, and their profits, in mind.
