I see people disagreeing with you and you responding with insults and personal attacks. I'm going to go ahead and consider my side of the conversation over.

I think the insult generator must have broken, this is as random as the out of left field political attack earlier in the thread. Wondering if this is a case of when bots go bad?

Jes saying in NY State where I am a certified fitness trainer you have to take months of classes in anatomy bodybuilding techniques rehab techniques what Isn't safe for people with various injuries and conditions .. and then you have to pass state exams in all of these subjects . Many people attend a junior college for two years to certify . Please don't insult a bunch of hardworking caring people just to " prove " an idiotic argument .
This original thread was about an NFL star who died. How did we get to "Medically Managed Program" v. WLS. In other threads you have touted your program and we've all said congratulations on the first 100lbs but come back and see us in 10 years after you've reached and maintained a normal weight. You are not preaching to the choir here, I have seen you try to talk other people out of WLS on these forums. We have all wished you success but as our personal experiences have shown us this is very unlikely.
Also the eating guideline you have touted has been shown to be totally out of touch. Most people can't eat 2000 calories a day and maintain weight loss, and most of us eat 1/2 to 2/3 of that number. We eat high protein and low carb.
I'm sorry you feel the need to proclaim you have all the answers, because honestly none of us do.

Julia, Maybe I wasn't clear, I don't eat 2000, calories per day, just yesterday my intake was only 1200 and I burned nearly 700 calories by participating in a 5k yesterday. Our intake goals are based on the USDA 2000 calorie per day, for instance 2300 mg of sodium or 30 gms of fiber. When your normal intake is between 3000 and 4000 calories per day, which isn't out of the realm of possibility, 2000 WILL result in weight loss, at least initially. Of course as consumption decreases so do the requirements for all of the micros in a proportionate manner.
I won't deny that there have been well-wishes, but like yourself, none of you can do that without saying "it won't happen" and your only basis for making that last comment is based on your own experience; you failed so it's inevitable that I will too. It's the backhanded gloom and doom, that I'm opposed to. You failed so I will too. That isn't a good luck wish, and it isn't supportive, in fact it's destructive, and to say that it isn't done with more than a bit of "we'll see" is more than a bit disingenuous. Furthermore, I don't understand why so many of you think I have to meet your demands before I can participate on this forum, I don't demand it of you. It's more than just a bit arrogant and demeaning.
There are people on this forum who ARE here looking for information and solutions and to not present them with ALL of the available options and information regarding those options is downright dishonest, so if I'm the only one on here toutting the success that is possible through a Medically Managed Program I will continue to be that voice. I'm sure that means that there will be an unlimited amount of pushback and attempts to discredit me, and your only basis for doing that is that YOU FAILED. I have been called a know-it-all and accused of having all of the answers, but in fact it's you folks who come off that way, but you won't see it that way because of your arrogance. Your experience doesn't have to be my experience. We have a number of folks who drop out of our program around the 12 month, and they do so because so many of them didn't understand the truth about what was involved. They weren't willing to give up their weekly visit to Ruth's Chris, Outback, or Texas Roadhouse. They don't understand the discipline involved in keeping this train rolling. I never go to a restaurant without checking the nutritional info on their menu and deciding before I even leave the house what I'm going to order, and once there I don't deviate from the plan. That is decidedly different than not caring what or how much of it goes in you mouth lifestyle that they've been living for years, or maybe even decades.
For years many have been led to believe, by failures like yourself, or by those seeking a microwave solution, that WLS is the only way, and I'm here to say it isn't, and the proof of that lies in the 100+ pounds I've lost and kept off and continue to lose. You all have a great day.
