ground turkey
i get sick when i eat red meat & i know i need to get my protein in but does anyone have any great ideas as to what to do with ground turkey? i am trying to get creative so today i took the stuff, seasoned it w/pepper, lite salt & garlic powder and put alittle tomato sauce in it plus broccoli & put in the microwave. when it was done i topped it off w/lite sour cream. it really wasn't all that bad.

I like to use all of the simmer sauces from the grocery store with ground turkey! I've done Indian curry, Mexican green chile, stroganoff, red enchilada sauce, and sloppy-joe BBQ sauce.
You'll want to check the labels of whatever you pick up to watch for carbs/sugar and calories, but I've found that as long as I go easy on the sauce, it works really well.

you can use it for pretty much anything you'd use ground beef for (although it doesn't have as much flavor - so putting it in something that has a lot of seasoning is ideal). I mostly use it as taco meat (mix it with taco seasoning - and serve with lettuce, tomato, salsa, cheese, and plain Greek yogurt)

i like ground lean turkey & chicken breast a lot!
i like the chicken parm mini meatloafs I made(can't right now thanks to GERD.) turkey makes good meatloafs too!

Hi dreamer! I am not a ground beef fan myself, and I use ground turkey quite often.
My go-tos are...
Sauce up a 16 oz package of ground turkey. Divide it out into 4 tupperware containers. I normally season one or two taco seasoning and then eat them with sour cream and salsa and melted Mexican cheese. Then I season one with Italian seasoning, a little ricotta cheese, a little tomato sauce. Then I might season one with some pesto sauce from a jar, or some other jar of spicy sauce, for example.
I also use ground turkey or ground chicken to make chicken or turkey meatballs. I mix the meat in a large bowl with tons of seasoning like granulated garlic, minced onion, salt, pepper, an egg or two, some parmesan cheese, Worcestire sauce, onions. Then form into balls and either bake or saute in a little olive oil. If I am feeling really fancy I put a tiny little square of spicy havarti in the center of each! I then freeze them 3 or 6 meatballs per baggie and leave some out for that day, the following day.
Another good ground chicken or turkey meal once you are further out (no clue when you had surgery) is to saute it with snap peas, onions, scallions, and a can of water chestnuts, with maybe teriyaki and spicy sauce (low sugar)...it's kind of like an Asian lettuce wrap (but minus the hoisin sauce which is pure sugar).
Enjoy!
