I think we've been waging a war against the poor for decades, and we are worse off than ever before. It's time to declare war on the wealthy.

The gap is bigger than ever. The 1% has all the money and power, kinda scary isn't it?

Just one Lee way to punish people for not being wealthy and make people feel bad for needing help. So many people only want to help others if they can make it punitive and negative (see also the school that turned away donations so they wouldn't shame kids for their parents not paying the lunch fees). It's never about the $, only about the bitterness and hate.

School lunches have been in the news here a lot lately. I live a half hour away from the city you alluded to.

They even have a term for it now -- lunch shaming.

Warwick RI prevented students without lunch money from getting regular meals, instead giving them sunbutter and jelly sandwiches. Sunbutter sounds healthy, whatever the **** that is. Chobani stepped in and donated $50,000 so kids could have a real lunch.

We're supposed to be a great nation. We gave trillions of dollars in tax cuts to the very richest, but have to pass the hat for kids to eat. Make me dictator, and lunch is the same for all kids, at no charge.

Another school started doing hand stamps on kids who had free or reduced price lunches.

Cranston RI schools turned their list of parents who owed school lunch money over to a collection agency. RI gave 160 million bucks to entice a video game company to the state a few years ago. The company took the money and went belly up a few months later. 160 million is a lot of school lunches.

But hey. I'm not angry.

Grim- we had so many kids in our public schools qualifying for free lunches, they just made it county wide. Now every kid in our county eats for free except kids in private schools.

Jesus. That is so awful, hand stamps because it's important that everyone know you are poor and need help to eat. What is wrong with people?
