Strangers Commenting on MO People's Weight - The "I just want them to be...
Hello and Good Morning OH'ers
I've been watching some YouTube videos starring MO and SMO people recently and have seen this trend. People will comment with things like "Just put down the fork", "Eat a piece of lettuce every once and a while!", or "Walk for 5 minutes! That's all!". When confronted about their comments, they all have the same explication. The "I'm just worried about their health" excuse.
What do you guys think? Do you think these internet strangers are really just worried about the stars health? Or do you think they have another reason for making those comments? Have you ever seen this reasoning elsewhere? What are your opinions on it?
Thanks everyone and happy hump day!

I think that a person who is truly concerned about someone's health would also care about their mental health - and shaming a person doesn't result in positive mental health outcomes.

People who single out MO or SMO people to harass them about their weight under the guise of being concerned are anything but. They're just miserable ******** whose primary goal in life is to make other people as miserable as they are.

This is a clear case of Fatphobia and bias. They aren't concerned about their health, but even if they were, it's none of their business if that person chooses to be healthy, and you can not look at a person and see 'health' or the lack thereof. Small bodies do not equal health.
My husband pasted me this article the other day. This is the world we live in.

Fat promoter Tess Halliday (VMO+) was completely berated in the UK for troubling the NIH (socialized medicine) and costing them a fortune for her obesity and care. She just sniffed and said" I'm an American, you don't have to worry over my insurance" Cracked me up.
I do NOT support, celebrate or spend any time on defending her or anyone else, they are adults and free to do as they wish. But I did like her *****y answer.
I might develop a new comeback "Add me to your health insurance policy and I will eat more lettuce."
