OT: I need your help, what was your favorite board games growing up?
My grandson is turning 5 in a week and he asked for some board games to play at Nana's house. What were your favorite board games growing up? I am thinking Monopoly, Mouse Trap, Sorry, Battleship. It's hard being a cool Nana and sometimes you have to ask for help
Thanks,
Kathy

Since he is turning 5,,,,, Candyland is another great game! You don't want a game that last too long since their attention span is only around 20 minutes. (I taught 6 year olds) Card games are fun at that age too.... Old Maid, Fish, UNO, Skipbo. Good luck! We "Nanas" have to pull together to stay 'cool'. LOL
Hi Allbygrace,
This is not a Nana bragging but this kid has the attention span of an adult. I think the games that require more thinking is his thing. Now his 3 year old brother loves candy land and Nana has to make sure she covers them both. Sierra is only 6 months LOL I do love the idea of card games, I think I will do a little of both.
Thank you for taking the time to make your suggestions.
PS...yes us Nana's have to stick together

Candyland was my fave. Big surprise, right?
If it were me buying, I'd try to find a Scrabble Jr.-if anything like that exists. Scrabble is my favorite now, along with Clue.
How about Connect Four?
